Mining PSU and steel giants plan major projects.

Deccan Herald reported that the National Minerals Development Corporation is aggressively pursuing the setting up of its giant steel plant in Bellary region, geographically close to the projects planned by 2 giant steel manufacturers ArcelorMittal and Bhushan Steels.

NMDC had signed a memorandum of understanding at the Global Investors Meet in 2010. It has been pursuing the project to set up a 5 million tonne plant in Bellary over the past 6 months. NMDC had initially planned a 3 million tonne plant but later scaled up the capacity.
