MMRCL Receives ₹188.3 Crore, Pune Metro Rail Secures ₹165 Crore Funding.

Days ahead of the commissioning of Phase I of Metro Line 3, the Maharashtra state government has announced the allocation of funds raised through an additional 1% stamp duty on the sale, donation, and mortgage of immovable property within municipal areas. The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL) is set to receive ₹188.3 crore, while Pune Metro Rail will be allocated ₹165.24 crore from the state budget.

A Government Resolution issued on Thursday by the state's urban development department detailed the decision to distribute these funds to both MMRCL and Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation (MahaMetro), as outlined in the budget for the financial year 2024-25. This funding aims to support urban transport projects across the state.
