Moser Baer decides to invest Rs. 20,000-mn in TN
Chennai: Optical disc manufacturer Moser Baer will invest Rs 2,000 crore, in the first phase, in a solar photo voltaic manufacturing plant near here. The plant will generate revenues of around $1 billion (about Rs 4,100 crore) in 3-5 years, according to Mr Deepak Puri, Managing Director, Moser Baer India.
The plant at Oragadam-Sriperumbudur SIPCOT SEZ is likely to come up in 2009 and provide employment for around 4,000 people, Mr Puri announced at Connect2007.
Later speaking to presspersons, Mr Puri said the plant will come up in 125 acres. In the first phase the company will set up a “single thin film” solar fabrication facility.
