Mumbai Metro Lines 2B & Mumbai Metro Line 9 Go Live with Datamatics Global Services AFC and Mobile Ticketing Systems.

Datamatics has announced the continued expansion of its association with Mumbai Metro, with its automated fare collection (AFC) and mobile ticketing systems now being deployed on Metro Lines 2B and 9.

Commenting on the development, Vice Chairman and CEO Rahul Kanodia said the company takes pride in its ongoing partnership with Mumbai Metro, following earlier deployments on Lines 2A and 7. He noted that the latest implementation aims to enable faster, smarter, and more seamless mobility for commuters across the city.

Kanodia added that the association is especially significant for Datamatics, given that the company is headquartered in Mumbai and the projects directly benefit millions of residents.

Beyond Mumbai, Datamatics highlighted its global footprint in AFC systems, stating that it has executed more than 30 projects worldwide across major transit hubs including London, New York, Melbourne, Hong Kong, and Dubai. The company also cited its implementation for the Memphis Area Transit Authority in the United States.

In India, Datamatics has delivered AFC solutions for several major transit systems, including the Delhi–Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS), Kolkata Metro, Pune Metro, Lucknow Metro, and the ropeway system at the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Jammu
