Nayara Energy Engages with Government, Partners to Maintain Operational Stability.
Rosneft-backed Nayara Energy announced on Thursday that it is actively engaging with the Indian government and trade partners to ensure a steady supply of fuel across the country. The company, which operates India's second-largest single-location refinery, is working to maintain operational stability despite recent sanctions imposed by the European Union.
Nayara Energy's Vadinar Refinery in Gujarat has a capacity of 20 million tonnes per annum and accounts for approximately 8% of India's total refining output. The company stated that its retail fuel stations are operating as usual and that it is committed to upholding its role in India's energy security.
"Given our commitment to the Indian consumers and India’s energy security, we are actively engaging with the various governmental authorities as well as all our counterparties and partners to facilitate seamless transactions and continue to maintain operational stability," the company said in a statement.
The European Union's 18th sanctions package has targeted Nayara Energy, where Russian oil giant Rosneft holds a 49.13% stake.
