NHAI to Bid Out 124 Road Projects Worth ₹3.4 Lakh Crore in FY26.
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has unveiled an ambitious plan to bid out 124 highway and expressway projects valued at a staggering ₹3.4 lakh crore during the fiscal year 2025-26. This extensive infrastructure push will cover a total length of 6,376 kilometers across the country.
Among the key projects slated for bids, the 476-kilometer Gorakhpur - Kishanganj - Siliguri corridor will be tendered under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM). This model typically involves the government and private developers sharing the project's financial risk.
Another significant undertaking, the 106-kilometer Tharad-Deesa-Mehsana-Ahmedabad - Package 1, is set to be bid out under the Build Operate and Transfer (BOT) model. Under BOT, a private entity finances, builds, and operates the project for a concession period before transferring it back to the government.
This substantial pipeline of projects highlights the government's continued focus on bolstering India's road network, crucial for economic growth and connectivity.
