NSP completes 11 uplift projects in Helmand
Lakhkargah: 11 rehabilitation projects in Lakhkargah and Nar-e-Seraj district of Helmand province completed by National Solidarity Program (NSP).
Provincial official of NSP, Engineer Ahmadzai said that the projects include 18 wells, cleansing of streams and canals, paving 2500 meters of roads, 12 small bridges, and three tailoring projects.
He added the projects will benefit 1738 families, and that 10% in these projects was contributed by public.
The projects were completed with a cost of six millions and 150,000 afghanis from NSP.
Mohammad Qasim, a resident of Sarkar village in Lakhkargah told this news agency that with installation of water taps the drinking water problem of the people was solved.
NSP has been working in Helmand province for last five years. NSP has constituted 476 Community-based Organizations in six districts of the province.
A local officer of NSP said that they have approved 888 projects so far, some of which were completed while others are in progress.
