The Odisha government has approved 15 new industrial projects totaling ₹3,353 crore in investments, anticipated to create 4,637 jobs across multiple sectors. The approvals came during a State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja.
The projects span a range of sectors, including chemicals, renewable energy, steel, aluminum, food processing, manufacturing, textiles, tourism, pharmaceuticals, and cement, with developments in districts like Koraput, Khurda, Baragarh, Puri, Cuttack, and Jharsuguda.
In the chemical and renewable energy sector, Reliance Bio Energy Limited will invest ₹121.21 crore in a bio-gas and organic manure plant in Puri, creating 69 jobs. Beekay Steel Industries Ltd. will invest ₹750 crore in expanding steel operations in Cuttack, adding sponge iron, billets, ferro alloys, and a captive power plant, generating 800 jobs.
In the aluminum sector, HM Power and Cables Pvt. Ltd. will establish an aluminum conductor and cable plant in Jharsuguda, investing ₹55.72 crore and creating 205 jobs. Meanwhile, Nexthermal Asia Pvt. Ltd. will set up a heating elements manufacturing unit in Khurda, backed by a ₹55.81 crore investment, creating 132 jobs.
The food processing sector is seeing substantial investment from companies like Bhuvaneshwari Foods, Aban Beverages, and Geofast Consumer Products. Their projects in Khurda, Baragarh, and Cuttack represent a combined investment of ₹1,542.04 crore, expected to generate over 1,358 jobs.
In textiles, Odisha Textile Manufacturing Private Limited will invest ₹51.80 crore in Khurda to manufacture recycled yarn, creating 535 jobs. In tourism, ITC Limited will expand its Welcomhotels in Bhubaneswar with a ₹119.14 crore investment, adding 240 jobs. Additional tourism ventures by SJ JRG Ventures LLP and LYFE Group of Hotels will bring new facilities to Puri and Koraput, with investments totaling ₹154 crore and 380 new jobs.
In pharmaceuticals, Infunex Healthcare Private Limited will establish a new unit for intravenous fluids in Cuttack with a ₹59.43 crore investment, creating 182 jobs. Ultra Tech Cement Ltd. will expand its cement grinding unit in Cuttack, increasing capacity from 3 MTPA to 6 MTPA through a ₹372 crore investment, adding 581 jobs to support state infrastructure development.
