Omaxe to Invest Over ₹1,000 Crore in New Amritsar Township, Bolstering Punjab Presence.

Omaxe Ltd., a prominent Indian real estate developer, is significantly expanding its footprint in Punjab with the launch of its latest integrated township, New Amritsar. Developed through its subsidiaries, the project represents a substantial investment of over ₹1,000 crore in its first phase.

Strategically located on the GT Road, just a 12-minute drive from the iconic Golden Temple, New Amritsar spans a total land area of 260 acres, with 127 acres currently under development. The launch of this ambitious project underscores Omaxe's long-term commitment to Punjab's real estate development and urban infrastructure growth.

Omaxe already boasts a strong presence across six cities in Punjab, including New Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Patiala, Derabassi, Amritsar, and Bathinda. "New Amritsar represents a natural extension of our vision to create well-planned, modern urban communities that serve both current needs and future growth," a company spokesperson stated. The township's proximity to the Golden Temple, coupled with plans for a future hotel within the development, is expected to enhance its appeal. The company also foresees opportunities for further expansion through new land acquisitions.

Leveraging Infrastructure Transformation for Growth

New Amritsar is poised to benefit immensely from the rapid infrastructure transformation underway in the region. The upcoming 99 km Nakodar-Amritsar branch of the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway, passing directly by New Amritsar, is projected to significantly reduce travel times to Delhi and Jammu by 2026. Complementing this, the Amritsar Ring Road, a 98 km greenfield, four-lane highway, is under construction, further enhancing connectivity.

Additionally, a 4.5 km Elevated Road corridor links central Amritsar to the township, with planned extensions towards the university. The Sri Guru Ram Das Ji International Airport is also undergoing a ₹300 crore expansion to double its capacity, boosting global accessibility. These ongoing infrastructure upgrades highlight New Amritsar as a strategically attractive location for both residents and investors.

Thoughtfully Planned Community with Modern Amenities

The New Amritsar project has already secured RERA registration and all necessary approvals. In its initial phase, Omaxe is offering residential plots of 300, 500, and 1000 sq. yards. These plots will be part of a larger master plan that integrates commercial spaces, a school, an exclusive clubhouse, and comprehensive community infrastructure.

The township is designed to offer both convenience and a high quality of life, featuring wide internal roads, expansive landscaped greens, dedicated walking and cycling tracks, uninterrupted water and electricity supply, and 24x7 security. The layout has been meticulously planned to foster a balanced, self-sufficient lifestyle while allowing for future scalability.

The project will be developed in phases, with the first phase anticipated to be completed in approximately four years. The initial investment is being funded through internal accruals, and the project has achieved financial closure with strong market feedback and sanction from a financial institution. Omaxe may explore additional funding routes for future development phases. With New Amritsar, Omaxe is not just expanding geographically but is also reinforcing its crucial role in shaping the urban transformation of Punjab, aiming to establish the township as a key destination for thoughtfully planned living spaces in the city.
