ONGC Strengthens BP Tie-Up with Western Offshore Basin Services Deal.
State-run Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has expanded its partnership with global energy major BP by signing a technical services contract for ONGC's Western Offshore Basin, extending their collaboration beyond the Mumbai High field as the companies seek to enhance production from some of India's largest mature hydrocarbon assets.
The agreement was signed on Thursday, ONGC said in a statement.
Under the contract, BP will act as the Technical Services Provider (TSP) for ONGC's Western Offshore Basin, the company's most prolific producing region. The basin comprises 43 offshore blocks and accounts for a significant share of ONGC's oil and gas output.
The partnership builds on the companies' existing collaboration at Mumbai High and is aimed at improving production efficiency and recovery from mature oil and gas fields through BP's technical expertise.
