Part of Delhi-Mumbai Expressway Set to Open on November 12.

The Delhi stretch of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is expected to open to the public on November 12, marking a significant milestone in easing traffic congestion in the region.

South Delhi MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri confirmed that the six-lane highway, along with two bridges—one over the Agra Canal and another over the Gurgaon Canal—are now ready for use. He emphasized that the new infrastructure will help eliminate traffic jams along Mathura Road, a major bottleneck in the city.

The elevated section of the expressway passes through densely populated areas such as Yamuna Khadar, Okhla Vihar, and Batla House, along the Yamuna riverbank. A downward ramp near Maharani Bagh will connect to the road leading to the Ashram entrance and the DND flyover.

Bidhuri noted that the project, which cost ₹5,500 crore, will offer a quicker route to areas like Faridabad, Palwal, and Sohna. He highlighted that the new expressway would drastically reduce travel time. Currently, it takes about 2.5 hours to travel from Maharani Bagh to Sohna, but with the new infrastructure, the journey will take only 25 minutes, providing a permanent solution to the long-standing traffic problems on Mathura Road.
