Piyush Goyal: Major Infrastructure and Slum Redevelopment Plans for Mumbai North in 2025.
Union Minister Piyush Goyal has outlined ambitious plans for the transformation of his Mumbai North constituency in 2025, focusing on slum redevelopment and expediting key infrastructure projects, including road and railway line extensions. Goyal, who won his first Lok Sabha election last year, emphasized that these initiatives aim to enhance the urban landscape and improve the quality of life for residents.
On January 4, Goyal will meet with heads of various departments in Mumbai to review the progress of pending projects. During the meeting, an action report will be presented, and a time-bound plan will be developed for unresolved issues.
“We have massive plans for my constituency this year. We are focused on providing permanent homes to slum dwellers in the same locations. This project is already underway, and we are fast-tracking infrastructure development to improve the ease of living,” Goyal told PTI.
Among the key infrastructure initiatives, work will begin soon on upgrading four railway stations, including Kandivali, under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS). This initiative aims to modernize stations with a long-term development vision.
In a significant boost for commuters, Goyal also announced that the Centre had approved the extension of the Harbour Line to Borivali, improving connectivity between North Mumbai and Navi Mumbai.
Additionally, Goyal highlighted plans to promote tourism in the constituency, noting that the region boasts natural attractions like Sanjay Gandhi National Park and scenic coastal views.
