PM Modi Launches ₹12,850 Crore Health Projects to Enhance Nationwide Infrastructure and Services.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled a comprehensive suite of health sector projects valued at approximately ₹12,850 crore at the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) on Tuesday, coinciding with the 9th Ayurveda Day. These initiatives aim to bolster healthcare services and infrastructure across India.
Among the key projects announced, the Ayushman Bharat scheme will now extend its coverage to all senior citizens aged 70 and above. Additionally, PM Modi introduced advanced facilities at AIIMS and ESIC hospitals nationwide to improve healthcare access.
The Prime Minister also inaugurated three new medical colleges in Madhya Pradesh and launched a drone-based healthcare delivery system at 11 major institutions, enhancing service accessibility. Another significant initiative is the introduction of the U-WIN portal, aimed at digitalizing vaccination records, alongside the “Desh Ka Prakriti Parikshan Abhiyan,” a campaign focused on promoting health awareness.
During the event, BJP national president JP Nadda praised PM Modi’s commitment to healthcare, describing the day as “historic.” The overhaul of the health sector includes enhancements to critical care and nursing facilities under the PM-ABHIM scheme, which focuses on healthcare resilience while adapting to climate change strategies tailored for each state.
The U-WIN portal is specifically designed for pregnant women, facilitating the digitalization of the vaccination process. This initiative aims to ensure timely administration of life-saving vaccines for pregnant women and children up to 16 years old, protecting them against 12 vaccine-preventable diseases.
Overall, these initiatives mark a significant step forward in improving India's healthcare landscape.
