"PM Modi to Inaugurate Ahmedabad Metro Phase-2 on Sept 16, Connecting GIFT City and Gandhinagar"

A trip from Ahmedabad to Gandhinagar will soon cost just ₹35 per person, following the inauguration of Phase II of the Ahmedabad Metro project by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 16. The new 21-kilometre section will connect Motera station to GIFT City and Gandhinagar City.

This marks the next phase of the ₹5,384 crore project, which spans 28.2 kilometres and includes 22 metro stations. However, only eight stations will be operational after the launch, with metro services running to Gandhinagar’s Sector 1. Key stations along this route include GNLU, PDEU, GIFT City, Raysan, and Infocity, while work on the remaining stations continues.

GNLU will serve as the interchange station for passengers traveling to or from GIFT City, which is connected via a 5.42-kilometre branch line.

A metro ride from APMC in Ahmedabad to Sector 1 in Gandhinagar will take just 65 minutes and cost ₹35, compared to private taxi fares of over ₹400. A journey to GIFT City will cost ₹30.
