PM Modi to Launch Major Andhra Projects Worth ₹17,900 Crore, Inaugurate Mysuru Facility.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka on Saturday to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for infrastructure and development projects worth over ₹17,900 crore, besides opening the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Youth Centre in Mysuru, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said.

During his visit to Andhra Pradesh, Modi will inspect and inaugurate the newly built Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport at Bhogapuram in Vizianagaram district. The Prime Minister is scheduled to visit the passenger terminal around 11 am before dedicating the airport to the nation and addressing a public gathering.

Developed under the public-private partnership (PPP) model at a cost of over ₹5,640 crore, the greenfield airport has an annual passenger handling capacity of six million. The terminal has been equipped with modern infrastructure, advanced technology and sustainability features to meet future aviation requirements.

Among the key projects to be launched by the Prime Minister is the foundation stone for Andhra Pradesh’s first semiconductor manufacturing facility, the ASIP Semiconductor Project in Visakhapatnam.

The facility, being developed by ASIP Technologies Pvt Ltd in partnership with South Korea-based APACT, involves an investment of over ₹460 crore and has been approved under the India Semiconductor Mission. The project is expected to manufacture around 96 million semiconductor chips annually and create skilled employment opportunities.

Modi will also launch power transmission projects aimed at integrating renewable energy from Kurnool and Ananthapuram. These include the Kurnool-IV Renewable Energy Zone Phase-I project and other POWERGRID transmission schemes with a combined investment of nearly ₹9,900 crore.

In addition, the Prime Minister will dedicate and lay the foundation stone for National Highway projects worth more than ₹1,880 crore. These include sections of NH-365BG, the Tadipatri Bypass on NH-67 and a high-level bridge on NH-565. The projects are expected to enhance connectivity, reduce travel time and ease congestion across key urban centres.

Later in the day, around 3:30 pm, Modi will inaugurate the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Youth Centre, also known as Viveka Smaraka, at the Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama in Mysuru and address the gathering.

Built at the historic Niranjana Math, the 81,000 sq ft centre commemorates Swami Vivekananda’s visit to Mysuru in 1892. The facility includes a 4-D experience centre, exhibition hall, amphitheatre, library, meditation and yoga hall, classrooms and facilities for students preparing for competitive examinations.

According to the PMO, the centre aims to promote value-based education, leadership development and personality building among youth. It is expected to benefit more than 10,000 students and young people through lectures, workshops and capacity-building programmes based on Swami Vivekananda’s teachings.
