PM Modi’s ₹14,700-Crore Project Push Marks Major Growth Milestone.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently dedicated and laid the foundation stones for development projects worth ₹14,700 crore, giving a major boost to road connectivity, healthcare infrastructure and cultural preservation in Haryana and neighbouring regions.

The projects include key highway corridors, medical institutions, a railway infrastructure upgrade and a Sikh museum, aimed at strengthening connectivity, improving public services and promoting cultural heritage.

After flagging off India’s first hydrogen-powered train, the Prime Minister inaugurated the 157.92-km four-lane, fully access-controlled Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway stretch developed at a cost of around ₹9,680 crore.

The greenfield corridor is part of the 667-km Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway and is expected to reduce travel time between Delhi and Katra from nearly 14 hours to about six hours. It will also cut the Delhi-Amritsar journey time from around eight hours to four hours.

The expressway is expected to ease congestion on National Highway 44 (GT Road), improve connectivity to the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi shrine, boost tourism and pilgrimage traffic, and support industrial and logistics growth along the route.

Modi also inaugurated the 33.81-km four-lane, partially access-controlled Ambala-Kala Amb Highway on NH-7 and NH-344. The project will improve connectivity between Ambala and the Kala Amb industrial belt, strengthen links between Haryana and Himachal Pradesh, facilitate tourism movement and reduce logistics costs for industries.

Addressing a public gathering, Modi said Jind was being connected through a wider highway network and highlighted the role of infrastructure projects in accelerating Haryana’s development.

He also emphasised the cultural significance of the region, referring to Jind’s association with Maharaja Ranjit Singh and traditions linked to the Pandavas. He said the government was working to preserve India’s heritage for future generations.

As part of the cultural development initiatives, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of a Sikh Museum at Kurukshetra. The museum will showcase the history of Sikhism, teachings of Sikh Gurus, their sacrifices and contributions to India’s civilisation.

“Haryana is moving rapidly on the path of development. Whether it is agriculture or industry, these are the two pillars driving the state’s progress,” Modi said, adding that the newly launched projects would provide fresh momentum to the state’s growth journey.

Among other infrastructure projects, Modi inaugurated the 40.60-km Jind-Gohana Greenfield Highway on NH-352A. The highway will reduce travel time between Jind and Gohana from about two hours to nearly 40 minutes, benefiting commuters, freight movement and agricultural markets while improving connectivity to Rohtak, Panipat and Delhi-NCR.

He also laid the foundation stone for the 24.27-km Hansi-Barwala Brownfield Highway Project, which involves upgrading the existing road to a two/four-lane configuration with paved shoulders.

The Prime Minister further inaugurated the Elevated Railway Track at Kurukshetra, a major urban transport project aimed at eliminating congestion caused by railway crossings. The elevated track will improve road safety, ensure smoother traffic flow and enhance rail and road transport efficiency.

In the healthcare sector, Modi dedicated three major medical institutions to the nation — Pandit Neki Ram Sharma Government Medical College in Bhiwani, Maharishi Chyawan Medical College and Rao Tula Ram Hospital at Koriawas in Narnaul.

The new medical facilities are expected to expand access to healthcare services, increase medical education capacity, add more MBBS seats and improve the availability of specialist doctors in Haryana.
