Prostarm Info Systems Wins KPTCL Bid for Battery Storage Project.
Prostarm Info Systems Limited has been named the lowest (L-1) bidder by the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) for a significant energy storage project. The company will set up a 150 MW/300 MWh standalone battery energy storage system at the 400kV Doni Substation in Karnataka’s Gadag district.
The project, which will be built, owned, and operated by Prostarm for a period of 12 years, was awarded under the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) mode. The company will receive a yearly rental of ₹45.72 crore for the 150 MW system, with a monthly rental of ₹2.54 lakh per MW.
This initiative is a major step for KPTCL and the state of Karnataka in strengthening grid stability and integrating renewable energy sources. The new battery storage system will help manage power fluctuations and ensure a more reliable electricity supply across the grid.
