Puducherry seeks TN land for airport

Chennai / Trichi: The Puducherry government has sought around 80 acres land from Tamil Nadu that falls under the latter’s territory for the expansion of its airport.

Speaking to the media, chief minister of Puducherry N Rangasamy said the land at the Kottakuppam village was required for the expansion of the airport. The Rs 150-crore expansion project includes extension of the runway.

The chief minister said he had already approached Tamil Nadu chief minister M Karunanidhi and was hopeful of a positive response from his neighbour.
