Punjab CM approves 100 new development schemes
Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister, Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has accorded approval for 100 new development schemes, worth of Rs 1,068 million, in the provincial metropolis.
In this connection installation of 69 new tube-wells in various water-deficient localities of the city is underway, for which Rs 690 million had already been allotted to Frontier Works Organisation.
Director General, Lahore Development Authority (LDA), Shahid Mahmood disclosed this during a consultative meeting with the MNAs and MPAs from Lahore here on Tuesday, said a LDA's spokesman. The meeting was held for seeking recommendations of elected public representatives with regard to improvement of Wasa infrastructure in their respective constituencies.
The meeting was informed that the work would soon be kicked off on these news schemes for the development of Wasa infrastructure that have been chalked out in anticipation of future requirements of the city population.
Quick disposal of rainwater from low laying areas had been specially focused for this purpose, the meeting was apprised. The public representatives put forward their recommendation in view of the local requirements of their electorate.
