Punjab spending Rs 986 million on livestock

Kasur: Punjab government is spending Rs 986 million on support services for livestock farming, of which Rs 883 million will be spent in the current fiscal. Punjab Parliamentary Secretary Muhammad Ahmed Khan, talking to a delegation of livestock farmers at nearby village Khai Hatthar, said that Rs 103 million had already been spent on the project.

Under the programme, the THQ hospitals in eight Punjab districts will be upgraded and provided veterinary dispensaries to be manned by professional vets and staff, and equipped with livestock medicines.

He said mobile veterinary dispensaries would also be available at the union council level to facilitate livestock farmers. In this connection, THQ hospitals would be upgraded in districts Kasur, Nankana Sahib, Sheikhupura, Hafizabad, Pakpattan, Rawalpindi, Sargodha and Layyah, he added.
