Reliance Infra Wins NHPC Contract for 390 MW Solar Project with 780 MWh Battery Storage.
Reliance Infrastructure Ltd. has been awarded a major contract by NHPC, a Navratna public sector enterprise, for a 390 MW solar power project that includes a large Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).
The project, which will have 700 MW of solar DC capacity and 780 MWhr of battery storage, was secured at a highly competitive tariff of ₹3.13 per kWh. The contract was awarded following a tender that drew 15 bidders and was oversubscribed by nearly four times.
Reliance Dominates Integrated Solar-Plus-Storage Segment
This win significantly strengthens the Reliance Group's position in the renewable energy sector. Combined with Reliance Power’s existing assets, the group now boasts over 3 GWp of solar DC capacity and more than 3.5 GWhr of battery storage capacity. This makes the Reliance Group the largest player in India's integrated solar-plus-battery segment.
