Reliance Power Eyes Global Expansion, Bids for 1,500-MW Gas Project Overseas.

Reliance Power Ltd, led by Anil Ambani, is reportedly planning a significant international expansion, actively participating in global bids for a 1,500-megawatt (MW) gas-based power project. The move signals the company's strategic push into overseas markets.

Sources indicate that Reliance Power has submitted competitive bids for gas-based power projects in Kuwait, the UAE, and Malaysia. These bids are part of a "selective global expansion strategy" aimed at broadening the company's footprint beyond India.

This overseas initiative follows recent successes for Reliance Power in Bhutan, where the company secured two major projects: a 500-MW solar project and a 770-MW hydropower project. The current focus on gas-based power projects in the Middle East and Southeast Asia suggests a diversified approach to its international portfolio.
