Residents Urge Construction of Overbridge Connecting Tripunithura Metro and Railway Stations.
The Tripunithura Rajanagari Union of Residents' Associations (Trura), representing over 125 residents' associations in the municipal area, has urged railway authorities to construct an overbridge connecting the Tripunithura Metro station with the nearby railway station.
Trura highlighted that most Metro passengers arrive from the railway station, and an aerobridge would significantly enhance commuter convenience. The association emphasized that Tripunithura railway station serves as a key terminal for travelers from southern Kerala, including daily commuters, students, and patients heading to hospitals in Ernakulam.
"A large number of passengers alight at Tripunithura railway station to continue their journey via Metro. A dedicated overbridge would enable seamless transfers, reducing travel time," said Trura convener V.C. Jayendran.
Residents also raised concerns over a severe parking shortage at the railway station. With existing parking facilities nearing full capacity, vehicles are being forced onto approach roads, causing heavy congestion.
