A critical 750-meter road connection between the Yamuna Expressway and the Noida International Airport in Jewar is on track to be completed by March 2024, as reported by Times of India. This crucial roadway, managed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), will serve as the primary link to the airport for commuters traveling from Noida and Delhi.
The road forms an integral part of the 31-kilometer expressway currently under construction, designed to connect the Yamuna Expressway with the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Ballabhgarh. Within this 31-kilometer stretch, approximately 23.5 kilometers fall within Haryana, while the remaining 7.5 kilometers extend into Uttar Pradesh.
According to an official cited in the report, half of the 7.5-kilometer Uttar Pradesh segment has already been completed, with the remainder slated for completion by March. An interchange located on the Yamuna Expressway will serve as the gateway to the 31-kilometer expressway originating from Ballabhgarh.
In addition to passenger connectivity, a 10-kilometer road is also in the planning stages to facilitate the transportation of goods to the cargo terminal at the Noida airport. Land acquisition for a portion of this road is still pending.
Furthermore, to promote industrial activity within Uttar Pradesh, investors establishing industrial units in Greater Noida will have the opportunity to utilize additional land for commercial purposes through a special scheme. This initiative will involve the allocation of industrial plots, enabling recipients to operate two commercial facilities alongside their core industrial operations on these plots.
Notably, due to its proximity to Jewar Airport, International Film City, Yamuna Expressway, and the Buddha Circuit, those establishing industrial units will benefit from improved connectivity and access to various facilities, including India's first world-class Pod Transit System.
In a separate development, the International Air Transport Association (IATA), representing around 300 airlines and 83 percent of global air traffic, has designated the three-letter code "DXN" for the upcoming international airport in Jewar, Greater Noida. IATA assigns these three-letter codes to airports worldwide to facilitate easy identification.
