Rs. 500 Crore to Beautify City for Metropolis.
With just four months left for holding of the prestigious Metropolis World Congress-2014 in the second week of October, city mayor M Majid Hussain has asked officials to prepare the estimates of for taking up developmental works worth Rs. 500 crore to boost the city's brand image.
The mayor held a meeting on developmental works in the south zone and asked officials to complete the road-widening works in the old city at the earliest. He also wanted timely completion of the beautification of the Miralam Tank and the approach roads to the historic Charminar.
Beautification work, including greenery, will be taken up at Charminar, Mecca Masjid, Clock Tower at Chowk Market, MJ Market and approaches to all heritage structures. A hanging bridge at Salar Jung Bridge has been proposed. The mayor asked the officials that the propsoed amusement park at Kishan Bagh should also be to be taken up before Metropolis.
