Rs 6.28 million Tameer Punjab projects approved

Lahore: The Provincial Steering Committee approved nine new development projects under the Tameer Punjab Programme costing Rs 6.28 million. The committee met here on Monday with Local Government Minister Muhammad Basharat Raja chairing it.

The meeting reviewed the implementation of the Tameer Punjab Programme 2005-06 and 2006-07. It emerged that Rs 1602.43 million had been released so far under that programme and Rs 1586.35 million more for 2,691 development schemes for the Tameer Punjab Programme of 2006-07.

The minister ordered officials to accelerate the pace of implementation. Local Government Secretary Akhlaq Ahmed Tarar, representatives of the Finance and P&D Departments also attended the meting.
