Rural Electrification Corporation has sanctioned 775 DDG projects in five years: Minister.
The Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) has sanctioned 775 Decentralised Distributed Generation (DDG) projects for a total cost of Rs. 349.38 crore over the last five years in Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala and Odisha.
As many as 164 of these 775 projects have already been commissioned and remaining are at the various stages of Tendering & Execution, minister of state for power, coal & new and renewable energy (independent charge) Piyush Goyal has said.
The REC has so far disbursed Rs 43.68 crore for the implementation of the DDG projects. During the last five years, 3,704 villages and hamlets have been sanctioned and a fund of around Rs 259.6 crore has been released to various states under the programme.
