RVNL Bags ₹159.79 Crore Contract from Central Railway.
Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has been awarded a contract worth ₹159.79 crore by Central Railway for the upgrade of its electric traction system. The company announced the new win in an exchange filing, stating that the domestic order is part of its routine business operations.
The contract, awarded under standard terms, is slated for completion over a 24-month period. The project's scope involves the modification of the overhead equipment (OHE) in the Itarsi–Amla section of the Nagpur Division. This upgrade will entail converting the existing 1x25 KV electric traction system to a more robust 2x25 KV system. The primary aim of this enhancement is to facilitate a higher loading capacity of up to 3,000 metric tonnes (MT) in the section.
In separate announcements, RVNL also informed the stock exchanges about upcoming corporate decisions and changes in its board. The company's board of directors is scheduled to convene on Wednesday, May 21, to consider the recommendation of a final dividend for the financial year 2024-25. This recommendation will be subject to approval by shareholders at the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Furthermore, effective May 15, 2025, Surender Singh has been appointed as a non-official part-time director on the board of RVNL. The company had communicated this appointment on Thursday.
