SAIL to increase crude steel capacity Panaji: Steel Authority of India (SAIL) is planning to increase its crude steel production through brownfield and greenfield expansion works.

Presently it is undertaking brownfield expansion for pushing its crude steel capacity from 13 MT to 23.7 MT by 2012. It intends to increase it further to 60 MT by 2020.

Under the expansion, existing SAIL steel plants will be modernised and capacity of units will be expanded to their maximum potential.
