SAP Labs India Announces New Campus in Bengaluru.
As part of its expansion efforts, SAP Labs India is set to establish a new campus in Bengaluru’s Devanahalli region. The first phase of the campus, with an investment of 80 million euros, is expected to be operational by the second quarter of FY25. Spread over 41 acres, the new campus will accommodate up to 15,000 employees.
Sindhu Gangadharan, Managing Director of SAP Labs India and Head of Customer Innovation Services, highlighted that the expansion reflects the company's commitment to deepening its investments in India. The project aims to create 15,000 new jobs in Bengaluru. The foundation stone for the campus was laid on May 29, 2023.
This new facility will complement SAP’s existing largest global R&D hub in Bengaluru, which already contributes 40% of SAP’s global R&D output, with a quarter of the company’s patents originating from the city.
SAP Labs India is also focusing on advancing Custom AI and multi-agent AI technologies, which are set to play a key role in driving business transformation for its global customers. As SAP’s second-largest R&D hub globally, the Bengaluru team will spearhead solutions for over 4,50,000 customers worldwide.
Currently, around 50% of SAP Labs India's 13,000-strong workforce is equipped with AI-related skills. Gangadharan emphasized the significance of Custom AI in revolutionizing business operations, stating, “Custom AI allows businesses to tailor AI solutions to their specific needs, unlocking new levels of efficiency, innovation, and competitive advantage.”
The new Bengaluru campus will further bolster SAP Labs India's leadership in driving AI innovation and customer-centric solutions globally.
