Siemens Wins Contract from Titagarh Rail Systems for Pune Metro Expansion.

Technology company Siemens Ltd has secured a supply order from Titagarh Rail Systems for the Pune Metro Rail extension project, strengthening its presence in India's urban mobility sector.

Under the contract, Siemens will provide advanced propulsion systems and train control and monitoring systems (TCMS) for the metro project. The scope of work includes the design, manufacture, supply and warranty of traction converters, auxiliary converters, traction motors and TCMS for 12 trainsets.

The company did not disclose the financial value of the order.

Commenting on the development, Rajeev Joisar, Chief Executive Officer of Siemens' Mobility Business, said the project aligns with India's growing focus on sustainable urban transportation.

"As India continues to invest in sustainable urban transportation, the development of a strong local manufacturing and technology ecosystem becomes increasingly important," Joisar said.

The order is expected to support the expansion of Pune's metro rail network while reinforcing Siemens' role in delivering advanced mobility technologies for urban transit projects across the country.
