Sindh agri department proposes 15 new schemes

Islamabad: Sindh Agriculture Department has proposed for upcoming budget 15 new schemes besides setting up of Benazir Bhutto Agriculture Services Centre for providing facilities to the growers. Provincial Agriculture Department has submitted its Rs 2 billion development budget proposals for the year 2008-09 to the finance ministry.

Which included scheme for installing windmills for irrigation purposes, construction of 1,500 new watercourses, training of women for picking of cotton and technical training for nursery of fruits and flowers amid other schemes, private news channel Geo reported. The proposal of setting up of Benazir Bhutto Agriculture Services Centre for providing one-window facility for the disbursement of loans, seeds, agricultural medicines, fertiliser etc to the growers.
