Six-Lane Panchaganga Flyover Gets ₹913.7 Crore Funding Approval.
Union Highway Minister Nitin Gadkari announced that ₹913.7 crore has been approved for the construction of a six-lane flyover over the Panchaganga River on the Pune-Bengaluru National Highway (NH-48) to prevent highway traffic disruptions during floods in Kolhapur.
The 3.578-km elevated corridor will include a six-lane cement service road, the Gandhinagar junction, and two underpasses on either side of the railway line, ensuring uninterrupted traffic flow across the highway and the city.
In a post on X, Gadkari said the project “will make traffic safe and smooth in the future” in the low-lying flood-prone areas along the Panchaganga River. NH-48, which runs from Delhi to Chennai, provides direct connectivity to major cities including Mumbai, Pune, and Bengaluru.
The minister also tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy CMs Eknath Shinde and Sunetra Pawar, along with BJP Maharashtra and BJP India handles, adding hashtags #PragatiKaHighway and #GatiShakti.
