Six roads to get a facelift in Kozhikode.

SREI Infrastructure Finance Ltd., which was appointed as Transaction Advisor by the Kerala Road Fund Board, had envisaged the development of eight roads in the first phase.

But now, six roads will be developed in the initial stage. They are Stadium-Puthiyara Road (0.6 km); Kovoor-Vellimadukunnu Road (2.7 km); Karaparamba-Eranhipalam and Arayadathupalam-Kalluthankadavu Road (4.5 km); Gandhi Road-Mini Bypass and Kuniyilkavu-Mavoor Road Junction (3.4 km); Pushpa Junction to Mankavu Junction (2.4 km); and Panathuthazham-CWRDM road (8.45 km). All the roads will be developed on a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) basis.

The other two roads - Mananchira-Vellimadukunnu and Mananchira-Meenchanda - will be developed separately. This is because the required land has not been acquired for the Mananchira-Vellimadukunnu road and the process of preparing alignment is yet to begin in the case of the Mananchira-Meenchanda road.
