SJVN Green Energy Completes Trial Run of 241.77 MW in Bikaner Solar Project Phase-I.
SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL), a wholly owned subsidiary of SJVN Ltd., has successfully completed the trial run of 241.77 MW capacity in Phase-I of the 1,000 MW Bikaner Solar Power Project on March 31, 2025. The commissioned capacity is now operational and is set to achieve Commercial Operation Date (COD) on April 2, 2025.
The Bikaner Solar Power Project, with a total planned capacity of 1,000 MW, is scheduled for full commissioning by September 30, 2025. Once fully operational, SGEL will supply solar power to Rajasthan, Jammu & Kashmir, and Uttarakhand, reinforcing its role in India’s renewable energy transition.
This project marks a significant step towards India's ambitious target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030. It also aligns with SJVN’s long-term vision of expanding its renewable energy portfolio to 25,000 MW by 2030 and 50,000 MW by 2040, contributing to a sustainable energy future.
