SJVN Signs Agreement to Offer Technical Consultancy Services to NHAI
State-owned power producer SJVN announced on Monday that it has entered into an agreement with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to offer technical consultancy services for highway projects. The signing ceremony took place in the national capital, witnessed by NHAI Chairman Santosh Kumar Yadav and SJVN Director (Projects) Sushil Sharma.
According to a statement released by SJVN, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) emphasizes utilizing SJVN's expertise in Technical Consultancy Services. SJVN CMD Nand Lal Sharma highlighted the primary focus of the MoU and stated that it aims to leverage SJVN's capabilities for technical consultancy services.
As part of the agreement, SJVN will undertake a review of slope protection works at various locations, with a specific focus on the hillside along the Parwanoo-Solan-Shimla section of NH-05, Kullu Manali Highway, and various NHAI projects in Himachal Pradesh. The company will also provide design review services, peer review services, and technical vetting of designs for NHAI, along with monitoring construction works and suggesting quality-control tests and construction methodologies as needed.
The consultancy services are slated to be provided for an initial period of 24 months by SJVN to NHAI. The collaboration is expected to foster expertise and knowledge sharing, optimize resources, and promote synergy between the power and highway sectors, ultimately contributing to the advancement of infrastructure development, as per the SJVN CMD.
