"SRAM Group Forms Joint Venture to Establish Medical College and Hospital in Kazakhstan"
The UK-based SRAM & MRAM Group, in partnership with Big B Corporation and KAZIND Medical Group, is set to develop the largest private healthcare facility in Kazakhstan. The Kazakh government has allocated 243 hectares in Astana and 100 hectares in Almaty on a 99-year lease for this significant project.
Last year, SRAM and Big B signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Kazakh government to create a modern medical university, a multi-specialty hospital, and a five-star hotel in the region. This initiative aims to transform Kazakhstan's healthcare landscape, create jobs, and drive substantial economic growth.
Dr. Sailesh Lachu Hiranandani, Chairman of SRAM and MRAM Group, stated that the project will result in Central Asia's largest medical university and healthcare facility. The medical college will accommodate 10,000 students and feature a multi-specialty hospital with a capacity of 1,000 beds. Additionally, the joint venture plans to develop a five-star hotel with 500 beds to bolster medical tourism and enhance the overall patient experience.
Ajay Bhandari, Director of BIG B Corporation and KAZIND Medical Group, shared that the project has a budget of $5.4 billion, which includes plans to build 19 new hospitals and upgrade 50% of the existing bed capacity through public-private partnerships or a design, build, operate, and maintain model.
Founded in 1995, SRAM & MRAM Group is a leading global provider of public health and emergency management solutions.
