"Amaravati Trunk Roads Set for Completion by March 2027, Andhra Pradesh Govt Confirms"
The Andhra Pradesh government has allocated ₹40,887 crore for the construction of trunk roads in the Amaravati Capital Region, State Minister for Urban Development Ponguru Narayana announced in the State Assembly recently.
Speaking in response to a question from legislators, the Minister said an Inner Ring Road (IRR) spanning 96 km has been planned, featuring eight-lane and four-lane sections. The project is expected to be completed by March 2027.
According to Minister Narayana, the funds have been mobilised from a mix of global and domestic financial agencies. The IRR project will be executed in two phases. The first phase will cover a 67 km stretch from Ketanakonda to Nunna. The second phase will extend from Nunna back to Ketanakonda, passing through the forested areas of Kondapalli.
The development is part of the state’s broader infrastructure push to enhance connectivity and support the growth of the Amaravati Capital Region.
