Subhas bags water projects
Kolkata: Subhash Projects and Marketing Limited (SPML), one of India's largest integrated engineering companies, has secured consolidated orders worth Rs 242.06 crore in water management projects.
SPML would work on the Latur water supply scheme project as part of the consortium with UPLEEL and its joint venture partner, Cyprus-based Hydro Comp Enterprises Limited.
The scope of the work covers operation, maintenance and repairs of Latur Water Supply Scheme, including metering, billing and collection for water charges, etc. from Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran Division 2 at Latur.
This project is to be taken up on a build, operate, own and transfer(BOOT) basis. The contract is valid for 10 years and is likely to generate a gross revenue of Rs. 190 crore.
The other project bagged by the company is from Public Health Engineering Department(PHED), Jaipur for Bilaspur-Jaipur water supply project worth Rs 52.06 crore.
The work includes all civil, mechanical, electrical and operation & maintenance work for all three pumping stations at Jawahar Circle, Mansarovar and Central Park for 2 years. This project to be funded by the Japan Bank for International Cooperation(JBIC) is scheduled to be completed within 16 months.
'The recent restructuring and creation of water as a separate strategic business unit is helping us maximise on our core competency in this sector. At present, water claims 50 per cent of our order book and we are aiming to bid for more projects out of which few will be through our specialised JV company- Hydro Comp Enterprises Limited', Subhash Sethi, vice-chairman of SPML said.
