Super-Max mulls units in Brazil, Egypt, S-E Asia.

Super-Max Personal Care, the world's second largest maker of razor blades, is planning to expand its global reach by setting up manufacturing facilities in Brazil, Egypt and South-East Asia.

The company currently has manufacturing facilities in Bangladesh, Mexico and Dubai. While it has the largest market share in certain categories of razors in India, globally it is the second largest player after Gillette.

Subhash Chaudhuri, Vice-President (Strategy and Corporate Affairs), said setting up of manufacturing facilities near the markets was a way to further bring down cost of products. 'We are today exporting to 150 countries,' he told media persons.

Super-Max has a turnover of about Rs.1,200 crore, out of which about Rs. 500 crore comes from its overseas sales. In India, it has six manufacturing facilities, including one in Hyderabad and three in Mumbai, totally producing about 60 lakh double-edged razors and between four and five lakh systems and disposables.
