Suzlon Plans ₹10,000 Crore Renewable Energy Expansion in Andhra Pradesh

Wind energy major Suzlon Group is set to significantly expand its renewable energy footprint in Andhra Pradesh with a proposed investment of around ₹10,000 crore. The investment forms part of the company’s broader growth strategy for the state and is expected to accelerate the development of new wind and renewable energy projects.

The planned expansion is projected to generate approximately 4,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities, providing a boost to local economic activity and creating demand across the renewable energy supply chain, including construction, engineering, logistics, operations and maintenance.

As part of its long-term vision, Suzlon is targeting the development of an additional 5 GW of renewable energy capacity in Andhra Pradesh by 2030. The proposed capacity addition is expected to strengthen the state’s position as an important hub for renewable power generation and support India’s transition towards cleaner energy sources.

Suzlon already has a substantial presence in Andhra Pradesh, with more than 1,700 MW of installed wind power capacity across the state. The proposed investment will build on this existing portfolio and deepen the company’s engagement with the state’s renewable energy sector.

The expansion comes amid growing demand for renewable electricity and increasing investments in wind and hybrid power projects across India. Suzlon’s planned ₹10,000-crore investment could therefore create opportunities for EPC contractors, equipment manufacturers, infrastructure companies, transmission developers and renewable energy service providers.

With its ambitious 5 GW capacity target by 2030, Suzlon’s Andhra Pradesh expansion is likely to become a significant contributor to the state’s renewable energy growth and India’s broader clean-energy ambitions.
