Suzlon Wins 302.4 MW Wind Energy Project from Jindal Renewables.

Suzlon Energy Limited has strengthened its partnership with Jindal Renewables by securing a 302.4 MW wind power project in Karnataka’s Koppal region. The project, designed to support green steel production, increases Suzlon’s total order from Jindal Renewables to 702.4 MW—the largest commercial and industrial (C&I) order the company has received from a single customer.

The new project will see Suzlon supplying 96 S144 wind turbine generators (WTGs) equipped with Hybrid Lattice Towers, each with a capacity of 3.15 MW. The power generated will be used for captive consumption at steel plants in Chhattisgarh and Odisha, advancing sustainability goals in the steel sector.

This milestone highlights Suzlon’s growing presence in the C&I segment, which now accounts for 56% of its record 5.4 GW order book. The project also aligns with India’s commitment to renewable energy, as the country aims to achieve 50% of its electricity generation from non-fossil fuel sources by 2030.

Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman of Suzlon Group, praised the partnership's strategic importance in contributing to India’s green energy goals. Bharat Saxena, representative from Jindal Renewables, emphasized the project’s critical role in enhancing sustainability within the steel industry.

This project underscores the synergy between renewable energy initiatives and industrial decarbonization, setting a benchmark for sustainable growth in India’s energy and manufacturing sectors.
