"Tamil Nadu Government Proposes Fourth Auto Cluster in Thoothukudi, Plans Two Additional Centers for EV Industry"

In a bid to accommodate the burgeoning electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing project of VinFast and to facilitate future investments in the automotive sector, the Tamil Nadu government has set its sights on establishing a fresh auto cluster in Thoothukudi, located in southern Tamil Nadu.

Thiru Srinivasan, Senior Advisor in the Electric Vehicle Sector for FameTN, emphasized the significance of this initiative during a conference, highlighting that while Chennai, Coimbatore, and Hosur serve as prominent automotive clusters in the state, the government is actively developing Thoothukudi as the fourth cluster. This development marks a proactive approach to harnessing the region's potential in the automotive industry, with a particular emphasis on EV manufacturing.

With VinFast's entrance into the scene and the influx of investments from various other industries, Thoothukudi is poised to emerge as a robust auto cluster. The government's strategy involves building the cluster from scratch, laying the groundwork for sustained growth and development in the automotive sector within the region.
