"Tamil Nadu investment surge: ₹12.16 lakh crore attracted since 2021; 80% of projects now underway."

Tamil Nadu has attracted investments worth ₹12.16 lakh crore since 2021, with nearly 80 per cent of the Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) signed by the State government currently under various stages of execution, Industries Minister T.R.B. Rajaa said.

Speaking to PTI, Rajaa said the Industries Department in 2025 placed strong emphasis on execution and future-ready growth. As part of this approach, the State rolled out major new policies in emerging sectors such as space, maritime manufacturing and toy manufacturing, while also rapidly expanding State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu (SIPCOT) industrial parks across several districts.

The minister underlined that the department has prioritised converting investment commitments into on-ground projects. “Nearly 80 per cent of the MoUs signed so far are under different stages of implementation,” he said, highlighting the State’s focus on translating investor interest into tangible outcomes.
