Tamil Nadu seeks greater Centre support to accelerate industrial development.

Tamil Nadu Industries Minister S Keerthana has called for strengthening industrial corridor connectivity and expanding opportunities for industrial development across the State.

Keerthana made the remarks at the third Apex Monitoring Authority meeting of the National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust, held in New Delhi on Monday. The meeting was chaired by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal and senior representatives from the Union and State governments also attended the meeting.

The meeting reviewed the progress of industrial corridor projects and discussed measures to accelerate the development of industrial infrastructure, improve connectivity and attract investments across States, according to sources in the Tamil Nadu Industries Department.

Keerthana’s emphasis on corridor connectivity comes as Tamil Nadu seeks to strengthen industrial infrastructure and create greater opportunities for investment and manufacturing activity across the State.
