Tata Power Launches Solar Skill Centres of Excellence in Tamil Nadu.

Tata Power, through its training arm Tata Power Skill Development Institute (TPSDI), has launched two Solar Skill Centres of Excellence (SCoE) in Tirunelveli and Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu.

Established in collaboration with the Directorate of Employment & Training (DET), Government of Tamil Nadu, the centres aim to create a skilled workforce to support the state's rapidly expanding renewable energy sector. The initiative aligns with Tata Power's large-scale 4.3 GW solar cell and module manufacturing facility located in Tirunelveli.

The centres will offer hands-on, industry-relevant training in renewable energy technologies, including solar installation and maintenance, energy efficiency, and electrical safety. According to the company, the courses are designed to provide clear career pathways for roles such as installers, technicians, supervisors, and vendor-entrepreneurs, contributing to both employment generation and the green energy transition.
