TDAP seeks land for expo centre

Multan: Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) has started seeking for land for the construction of Expo Centre to increase the export of fruits, vegetables and flowers from southern Punjab and also for Packaging House to increase the export of mangoes.

Expo Centre would be constructed on 25 acres land, which costs about Rs 700 million whereas Packaging House would be constructed on 7 acres. City District Nazim, Mian Faisal Mukhtar has said in this regard that district government would fully co-operate in this regard.

'City government is also ready to provide funds for these projects if the provincial and federal government would release the permission letters', he added. Mian Faisal Mukhtar suggested that Expo Centre and Packaging House should be constructed in Industrial Esate because sui gas, electricity, sewerage and other infrastructure facilities would easily be available there.

Moreover, he added, this place would near to dry port, air-port and motorway due to which there would be no difficulty for the mobilisation of heavy traffic.

He further said that the exports would be increased many-folds with the completion of these projects and farmers would prosper. The government should also provide funds for the purchasing of land for these projects in Multan too.
