Telangana Attracts ₹7,000 Crore in New Investments.

The Telangana government announced recently that it has secured investments worth approximately ₹7,000 crore, marking a significant milestone under the leadership of the Revanth Reddy-led Congress government. The announcement coincided with the first anniversary celebrations of the regime.

State IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu, speaking at a function, highlighted the government’s commitment to innovation, self-reliance, and citizen-centric governance. The investments span diverse sectors, including eyewear products and solar energy.

Among the key initiatives unveiled was the establishment of the Centre for Research Excellence in National Security (CRENS) by BITS Pilani, Hyderabad. To further this vision, T-Works and BITS Pilani CRENS are collaborating to promote innovation and skill development in national security, focusing on advancing projects from prototypes to market-ready solutions.

Another significant project, the Agriculture Data Exchange (ADeX), was introduced as a digital public infrastructure to facilitate access to high-quality agricultural data. ADeX aims to empower innovators, startups, and stakeholders in creating transformative solutions for agriculture. A noteworthy partnership with HDFC Bank will use the platform to extend smart agri-credit, offering loans of up to ₹1 lakh to small and marginal farmers.

The state also launched MITRA, an AI-driven tool addressing substance abuse among youth. Developed in collaboration with the ITE&C Department and the startup United We Care, the WhatsApp-based application provides behavioral assessments for early detection and prevention of substance abuse, empowering parents and teachers.

These initiatives underscore Telangana’s focus on fostering innovation, technological advancements, and socio-economic development across multiple sectors.
