"Tenders floated for ₹6,444 cr West-East RE power link."

Tenders have been floated for the developmt estimated to cost ₹6,444 crore.

The project aims to facilitate the evacuation of growing renewable energy capacity concentrated in Gujarat and Rajasthan to emerging consumption cenent of transmission infrastructure to move electricity from India’s western region to the eastern region, a projectres in Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. REC Power Development and Consultancy Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of state-run REC Ltd, has invited bids to select transmission service providers (TSPs) for two packages of the project.

To oversee the tendering process, REC Power Development has incorporated two special purpose vehicles—WR ER Part A Power Transmission Ltd and WR ER Part C Power Transmission Ltd. These entities will be transferred to the successful bidders once the selection process is completed.
