Tomoe Shokai Expands India Footprint, Sets Sights on 2027 Growth

Tomoe Shokai is a long-established Japanese gas trading company engaged in the domestic and international trade of a wide range of gases, including high-pressure gases, medical gases, specialty chemical gases, and industrial gases.

Executive Officer Masahiro Harada describes the company’s role as part of the “invisible infrastructure of society,” highlighting its contribution to essential supply chains that operate behind the scenes. He noted that Tomoe Shokai supplies gases used across healthcare, general industry, electronics, automotive applications, and specialty chemical processes. While its domestic network is well developed to meet diverse customer requirements, the company also maintains an overseas presence across 14 locations in 10 countries.

Tomoe Shokai began its overseas expansion in 1989 with entry into Thailand, initially focusing on supplying sterilized gases to customers. Over time, its business expanded to serve the automotive sector and support Japanese companies operating abroad with varied gas requirements. The company subsequently broadened its footprint across Asia, including the Philippines, Vietnam, Singapore, and Malaysia, strengthening its international supply network.
